Dr. Felix Wiedmann was born in Germany in 1987. He received the M.D. degree from Heidelberg University in 2014 where he continued his training as a cardiologist and basic scientist at the Department of Cardiology, University Hospital Heidelberg. His doctoral thesis, focusing on the “Cardiac role of two pore domain potassium channels” was awarded with the Kaltenbach scholarship of the German Heart Foundation and the Otto-Hess scholarship of the German Cardiac Society. He currently works as a PostDoc and leading scientist in the PD Constanze Schmidt Lab at the Department of Cardiology of the University Hospital Heidelberg. Dr. Wiedmann’s clinical focus on cardiac electrophysiology is also reflected by his research interests, covering mechanisms of atrial arrhythmogenesis and pharmacology of cardiac potassium channels. Amongst numerous awards, he received the Ludolf-Krehl award (2017), the Hans-Jürgen Bretschneider Posterprice (2016) and the first price of the Young Investigator Award: Basic and Translational Science at the EHRA Congress 2019.
